Perfectly steamed, soft, adequate filling. Went to this so called restaurant at 2:30 pm Thanksgiving day 2014. It's perfectly seasoned when it lands on the table. I will be more than happy to give you my most honest opinion. The coffee is really good too. The maida layer was also not too thick.
The server told us the pies are awesome and that the breakfast is fabulous; so I have a couple of reasons to stop in again sometime. You can easily share with 4 people. The food was cold and the potatoes were crusty from sitting. I'd recommend it to anyone in the area, and I'll likely stop again when I'm on this trip to see family. Went to mammys kitchen today and wasn't sure what to expect but I have to say it was authentic, southern, feel good food.
The guests are a big part of the family environment, with longtime locals and generations of returning visitors sharing conversation between tables, at the buffet or with the staff. The only bad thing was being seated by the door made it a bit awkward when the line for tables started to form. There are not many Food trucks on the lane so it becomes a prominent place to come, visit and have food! You don't need to add butter or syrup. But it wasn't very flavorful and it was almost cold by the time it got to me. Current owners Mike and Missy Lambert have taken the restaurant to a new level of excellence, with friendly service and consistently good food. However, we couldn't hear them at all and subtitles were turned off.
I am now barred from a pig sty. Try the momos because their chutney is awesome and has a unique flavor from other!! We arrived for breakfast and found it to be down home barn yard ambiance. A great deal for the price. The real Mammy's has been at the same location, on the corner of Kings Highway and Mr. The service is great and the food comes out quick and there is hardly ever a wait to be seated. My husband had a burger with tater tots. Mammys has the same 60s feel and haven't done much updating in the decor department.
Mammy's Kitchen is pretty much what you would expect from the name: good Kentucky down home cooking without a lot of fancy frills. The patrons appeared to be mostly locals and the staff friendly. Mammy's does really good butterscotch meringue pie!! If you leave Mammy's hungry, there must be something wrong with you. I had the baby hot brown and could not finish it. Well now that we have experienced some local restaurants, I get it. It was nice to get a little coffee pot so you can do your own refills. Rated It feels much older than its 2007 beginnings with its quirky interior and diner inspired menu.
It came with two eggs, two pieces of bacon or sausage and two pancakes. I liked it but i would order the veg special momos any day. There are many dishes out here go for it and it is also budget friendly!! You can also search near a city, place, or address instead. Walked over from Talbott's Tavern after checkout for a delicious lunch. The staff is adequately friendly. Judging by how busy it was I don't think he's alone in that opinion.
I like to have sweet and savory with my meals, though any of the pancakes are more than enough for one person alone. My husband said the buffet was really good too. This is one of the best hole in the wall restaurants and best breakfast joint you will find in Myrtle beach. Breakfast is the bomb, featuring a full buffet of fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, French toast, home fries, grits and more. I love their chicken momos over the veg ones. We both had the mashed potatoes, delightful with white gravy, and fried green tomatoes as our sides. Considering they are cooking from frozen rather than fresh, the wait time isn't surprising.
So few places where butterscotch pie can be found and even fewer where it's really good! Only to find out via a police officer that it's closed during the winter months. My appetite was starting to wane as I look at me this cheesy, inviting hot brown burger so I cut it in half and dug in. Mammy's puts out a spread for breakfast, including fresh fruit that goes well over French toast and hot grits with all the fixings. As was I with my butterscotch meringue pie. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The price seemed a little high but the portions were huge, plus the food was pretty good.
They have an amazing buffet with every breakfast item you would ever want plus a variety of fruit.  Great  egg's Benedict with hash-browns with onion and cheesey goodness. My lunch and then super early breakfast the next day was phenomenal. We drank sweet tea It is very sweet-- you might want to go half unsweetened. According to me, the pizza fries like obviously would be just right as it is gooey, flavoursome and is not too tangy for your taste however; if looking for gooey spicy, go for ghost chilly fries. Expect a wait line unless you go during off tourist season. There are not many Food trucks on the lane so it becomes a prominent place to come, visit and have food! It's perfectly made, fluffy with a true bourbon taste.
Our mouths were all watery for nothing! Finally had to ask to be able to pay our bill then waitress took our money and never brought back any change. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone 1. The atmosphere is laid back and homey, and it is definitely not a dress-up place at all. The restaurant information including the Mammy's Kitchen menu items and prices may have been modified since the last website update. Rated We were extremely disappointed in Mammy's Kitchen, especially after such positive reviews. Click the x next to this line. The staff were all very friendly.
